[ Properties ] This product is colorless to light yellow clear liquid.

[Pharmacological action] This product is a broad-spectrum antibacterial drug, and is the most active sulfonamide in vivo and in vitro. It has a strong inhibitory effect on most Gram-positive bacteria and negative bacteria, and bacteria are slow to develop resistance to this drug. It has good antibacterial activity against gram positive bacteria and negative bacteria such as Streptococcus pyogenes, Salmonella and Bacillus pneumoniae. Sulfonamides are similar in structure to p-aminobenzoic acid, which can compete with aminobenzoic acid for dihydrofolate synthetase in bacteria, hinder the synthesis of dihydrofolate and ultimately affect the synthesis of nucleic acid, and inhibit the growth and reproduction of bacteria. The action of sulfonamides can be antagonized by aminobenzoic acid and its derivatives (procaine and tetracaine). In addition, pus and tissue breakdown products can also provide essential substances for bacterial growth, which can antagonise sulfonamides.

[Drug interactions] (1) Combined with benzylaminopyrimidines (antibacterial synergist), can produce synergistic effect.

(2) Some drugs containing p-aminobenzoyl such as procaine, tetracaine and so on in the body can produce p-aminobenzoic acid, yeast tablets also contain bacterial metabolism required for p-aminobenzoic acid, combined can reduce the effect of the drug.

(3) With thiazides or furosemide and other diuretics, can aggravate nephrotoxicity.

[ Action and use ] Sulfonamides antibacterial drugs. It is used for sensitive bacteria infection, and can also be used for Toxoplasma gondii infection.

[Usage and dosage] Intravenous injection: one dose, 0.17ml/lkg body weight, livestock. It was used once or twice a day for 2 to 3 days.

[Adverse reactions] (1) Sulfonamide or its metabolites can produce precipitation in urine, which is more likely to produce crystallization when given at high dose or low dose for a long time, causing crystalluria, hematuria or renal tubular obstruction.

(2) Equine intravenous injection may cause temporary paralysis.

(3) Sulfanilamide injection is a strong alkaline solution and has a strong irritation to tissues.

[Precautions] (1) This product can precipitate crystallization in the presence of acid, so it is not suitable to be diluted with 5% glucose solution.

(2) It is easy to cause crystalluria by long-term or large dose application. Sodium bicarbonate should be applied at the same time, and plenty of water should be given to the affected animals.

(3) In case of allergic reaction or other serious adverse reactions, stop the drug immediately and give symptomatic treatment.
